Student-centred
My educational philosophy has always been driven by innovative and student-centred approaches to curriculum design and pedagogy, the setting of high expectations and a strong results focus. But this can only be achieved when students are genuinely engaged in learning, have a growth mind-set, and feel encouraged and supported.
Forward planned
It is my job to meet your child at their level, and devise a learning plan that will get the students closest to their educational objectives within the time we have together, while supporting them in their endeavours to learn new knowledge, master skills, complete assignments and meet deadlines.
Collaborative
It is important that we as a team (student, parents/guardians and myself) have a shared understanding of what can (and sometimes what cannot) be achieved and that our expectations are aligned in order to make the learning journey as fruitful and enjoyable as possible for your child. I will provide parents/guardians with clear feedback so that every team member is fully informed about the progress being made. In order for my students’ potential to be reached, my aim is to have a collaborative and effectual relationship with all my students and their families.
Safeguarding
The Learning Curve is committed to child safeguarding. Any communication with children as part of a tuition arrangement is carried out with parent/guardian permission and with full parent/guardian oversight. Please address any concerns regarding safeguarding during the booking process.
Resources
Teaching resources are likely to be provided during tuition sessions. I reserve all rights on the materials I produce and use with students which means they cannot be shared with others or published online. Materials produced by other bodies that I use are also copyright protected and must not be distributed.
